Kayla Hang • Owner + Resident Artist

Hi hi, I am a tattoo artist and owner of Blvcksheep Culture.

I received my BFA in Design & Visual Communication in 2017, but began my tattoo apprenticeship under the artist, La Xiong, shortly after. During this time, I was challenged to have an entirely new perspective on self-discipline, commitment to myself and my craft, and creating for the human canvas. It was different from any media I’ve worked with before…and I loved it.

A tattoo is not only a standalone piece of art, but it becomes a part of someone’s body, their story, their joy — that’s my favorite aspect of it all. Every tattoo is an honor for me.

Hi everyone, my name is Kho and I’ve been a working tattoo artist now for 1 year! I started my apprenticeship in spring of 2022 and graduated my apprenticeship October of 2023.

A little about me, I have a B.A. in art education and a short period where I dedicated my time after college to dance.  I’ve always enjoyed the arts and its ability to express, connect, and create something meaningful.

Once time came to pivoting into a new career and pondering about graduate school, I was graciously offered to pursue a new creative career by Kayla.  Shortly after, I was inspired by what tattoos can provide for others.

I found that tattoos are a way to connect to ourselves.  They are a stamp in time to remind us of childhood, overcoming hardships, or just as simple as something silly and cool.  It’s there to give us comfort, perseverance, and nostalgia.  Overall, I’m just happy I get to treasure all these moments with my clients.

Gigi Monstar • Apprentice

Hi y’all! My name is Gigi. I am currently working as Kayla’s newest apprentice.

While I was involved in the industry in various ways over the years, I never actually felt the pull to pursue tattooing until I had my first appointment with Kayla. Our studio is such a chill, zen, and accepting environment, which was the exact opposite of what I had previously experienced. Once I rewrote the narrative on what this craft could be, I was ready to jump in and get to work.

Outside of my life as an apprentice, I am an intuitive reader, a photographer, a creative in many mediums, a mom to 2 cats, 1 dog and 1 gecko. You can check out more of the magick via @TheNakedGoddess.

I’m very passionate about helping others find the divinity and magick in themselves. It’s been a pleasure to not only bring my clients ideas to life but to help them own their magick. I’ve recently put a huge focus on spell work tattooing. Creating spells for various needs, as a permanent work of art.
