Our Story

Hello!

I’m Kayla Hang, owner of Blvcksheep Culture (formerly named K INX). After my apprenticeship, I opened K INX in January of 2020. And even at that time, I knew K INX was always going to be a placeholder name – a short and sweet way to launch my private tattoo studio because it was only going to be me, my art, and my wonderful clients.

Over the years, however, K INX has grown into something so much more than I expected. It was time to officially rebrand and shift the vision for what K INX was meant to become – a tattoo collective. Blvcksheep Culture is a place where all artists are equally respected. And while individuality is important and valued, the intention of the collective is to come together in collaborating, learning, teaching, and inspiring one another to become better artists and better human beings. I’m incredibly grateful to be working alongside these talented bada** women, who I am lucky enough to call my friends.

Behind the name

The name Blvcksheep Culture actually came from the creative mind of my cousin, Justin Yang. It was the name of his first clothing line (it has since rebranded to Pure Baby, so be sure to check it out). That name instantly resonated with me and nothing else felt right over the years. Long story short – YES, I got permission from him to takeover the name, and he was more than thrilled, thank goodness (haha). With that being said…thank you to those who have been there since the beginning of K INX and those who have joined along the way. We wouldn’t be here without you all and we’re so excited for you to be a part of our journey.

What we’re about —

Blvcksheep Culture is a woman-owned and women-run tattoo collective. We ENCOURAGE breaking the norm and standing out, because why shouldn’t you?

Our hope is to provide an intimate and inclusive safe space for all of you, because getting a tattoo should never be an intimidating process. One on one collaboration with your artist is important to us. At the end of the day, all we want is for every unique part of you and your story to be told through your tattoo.
